I’m in a list mood today, but don’t want to annoy too many people so I’ll try to control myself at two for today!
Inspired by the Dot Com Mogul Rules and the Tech List which came from JMH Techtronics, I thought a fun and unique list to start creating would be the Name in My Domain List - pretty catchy, huh? As we all know, picking a domain name for your new blog is one of the hardest things to do, but there are the few of us who are narcassistic enough to bypass the thinking and put our own name in the domain name.
The Rules
To be included on this list - the real name of the author must be included in the domain name. I was thinking about saying that you have to include your whole name in the domain, but honestly, it’s the Name in My Domain list, not the Full Name in My Domain list. Also, subdomains of your current sites do not count for sure. That’s just cheating. Good thing I remembered to mention that! You will see what I’m talking about as you see the list below.
Instructions
***Start Copying Here***
1) Write a short introduction paragraph about what how you found the list and include a link to the blog that referred you to the list.
2) COPY the ENTIRE List below and add it to your blog. To avoid duplicate content and increase the amount of keywords your site can accessible for, go ahead and change the titles of the blog. Just don’t change the links of the blog.
3) Take “My Adds” and move them into the “My Originals” list.
4) Add 3 Brand New Narcissistic Bloggers that you know of
My Adds
Nathan Drach
Saman Sadeghi
Kumiko Suzuki - sorry, but you got voted out
My Originals
Gary Lee
Ed Lau
John Chow
Nate Whitehill
Stephen Fung
Michael Kwan
Jeff Kee
Stuart Hannig
Hannes Johnson
Nomar
Jimi Morrison - *Update* - Please Add Jimi (originator of the Tech List) to your List as this was forgotten in the Original
***Stop Copying Here***
I really can’t wait to see how far this progresses. I hope this list becomes a mile long so I don’t feel too narsassistic.

Gary, looks like you have a messed up link tag around the first two links in the Originals. Unless of course that was intentional.
i’m coining these “the ego blogs.” every blogger has to have one now, in addition to their specific-topic blogs. (johnchow + TTZ, mrgarylee + agloco101, etc..) i guess i can’t play this until i get my ego blog up. boooo….. but should be up and running by this weekend!
What can I say? I have a easy, brandable name and I’m very very happy with it. I will use it all the time.. I’m holding onto the jeffkee.com domain for a long long time.
I am big in Japan and now on the internet.
At some point I will have to split my person/humor post off to a new blog/section and start doing more technical post. Really didn’t plan on getting any traffic to my site when I started it, just wanted a way for friends and family to look me up…
I’ll reproduce this list but I’m removing Kumiko Suzuki. Her domain is blogger. That don’t count.
[…] one comes from my friend Gary Lee. Gary was inspired by the Tech List and came up with a “My Name Is My Domain” list. To be included in the list, your name and your domain name must be the same. Having […]
Thanks for the link Gary, but two things I’d like to mention:
1) You mispelled my name. It’s Michael, not Micahel (Mica Hell?)
2) If you want to be nit-picky, then my blog is at btr.michaelkwan.com whereas my main freelance writing business is at michaelkwan.com
Haha, I can group myself into that category too! My dad’s name is actually Gary as well.

I think it takes a lot of courage to choose a domain name that is your real name.
I’d like to see a repository for this list, though. I’d like to see a complete collection, not a chain letter.

I think my choice to use my name as my domain came more from laziness and lack of creativity than vanity. Anyway - I love the list idea and added the 3 I know to the cause: http://www.markrobinson.ca/2007/03/i-too-have-my-name-in-my-domain-do-you/
Wouldn’t it be narcissistic if you called your web site “http://handsomerichnbrilliant.com!” instead of your name? It’s my name! I didn’t name myself, my parents did.
Oww, too bad that my first name had been registered. I could use my full name. But that’s too long. Because my name is consist of first, middle, and last name.
[…] game going around right now. This comes from Gary Lee. Gary came up with the idea for a “My Name is a Domain Name” […]

I’ve followed the dot com mogul rules, and one day, maybe just one day, I can also be a dot com mogul!!!
Too bad Kumiko was voted off! There, there Kumiko, you’re welcome at my site anytime!
This meme seems to be catching on like wildfire. I really wish I had a blog up on my named domain. Maybe next time.
This is such a great idea. I made a static page on my site with an alphabetized list of narcissistic bloggers here
I still get frustrated to this very day that I had to go with ‘armensblog.com’
Some nasty person has armen.com and isn’t even using it - and won’t sell it.
And armenthomassian.com is just way too long!!
However, this is a good idea you’ve come up with.
